IWD 2022: WIMA-Nigeria To Celebrate With Industry Summit

As part of efforts to celebrate the 2022 International Women’s Day, the Nigerian chapter of African Women in Maritime (WIMA-Nigeria) would organize a one-day maritime industry conference.
The event scheduled to hold on Tuesday March 8th, 2022 by 10am at Rock View hotel in Apapa Lagos, is in line with the United Nations declaration of March 8th as IWD.
According to the organizers, who revealed this in a letter signed by the association’s President, Mrs. Rollens Macfoy, the team for this year is: “Gender equality today for sustainable tomorrow” #BREAK THE BIAS.
“Our quest speaker will be the Secretary General of the Abuja Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control for West and Central African Region, Capt. Sunday Umoren. He will speak on; Empowerment & Opportunities in the Maritime Industry.”
“The highlight of the event will be quiz questions centering on the origin or IWD, climate change and Green House gas as well as a debate on Maritime has done more Harm than Good (Arguing for & against). Secondary schools and Universities invited are to participate in this,” the letter stated.
