CIoTA Partners NACOL To Drive Professionalism In Military Logistics

The Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA) has been in partnership with the Nigerian Army College of Logistics (NACOL) to ensure that military officers and personnel are exposed to modern skills, techniques, technology and strategies in military logistics operations.

CIoTA’s collaboration with the Nigerian Army College of Logistics is in line with institute’s mandate and the continuous synergy with relevant institutions for the advancement of the transportation sector and the continuous drive for professionalism that would enable officers and practitioners to deliver exceptional value delivery in their organizations.

Speaking during the graduation ceremony and passing out of Officers of Logistics Management Course 18 of 2021 at NACOL on Friday, the Commandant, Major General MO Enendu expressed satisfaction with the partnership with CIoTA, noting that it had ensures continuous equipping of officers for the logistics challenges ahead.

He emphasised that the issue of training and retraining of Armed Personnel has assumed an important dimension in view of modern advancements in military warfare and the Armed Forces have also made it mandatory for officers to be exposed to strategic logistic operations and management training offered at the College.

The graduating officers went through rigorous training in Military Logistics operations, leadership and strategic management with the expectation that the knowledge garnered through the training will enhance professionalism, military tactics and their skills in readiness for any exigencies of duties.

Meanwhile, in press statement issued by the Institute’s National Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Chizoba Anyika said that CIoTA is delighted that the Nigerian Army College of Logistics is committed and focused on the mandate for which it was established in strategically equipping middle-class and senior officers of the Armed Forces with the necessary skills, knowledge and competence in military logistics.

She stressed that the need for top-notch training on transportation and strategic management, especially during crisis and warfare, cannot be over-emphasized as logistics, planning, organization and execution of strategic operations is vital to the Nigerian Army.

The Institute, according to her, believes that the exposure of officers to appropriate training will not only enhance their core professional competence but will ensure optimum performance.

Anyika also specially congratulated the graduands and encouraged them to make a difference with the new skills.

“NACOL as a disciplined military institution has continued to exhibit a rich tradition of professionalism and excellence; and CIOTA commends these strategic efforts at personnel training, equipment handling and supplies, weapons and formations training in various aspects of military logistics operations, covering medical, supply and transportation of personnel, ammunitions and provision of fuel during emergency or crisis of high magnitude,” Anyika said.
