Rivers State Government is set to declare wanted and publish the names of people discovered to be involved in illegal bunkering in the 23 LGAs of the State. The State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike disclosed this at a meeting with Traditional rulers at the Rivers State Government House on Friday.
According to him, the names of all indicted persons will be published soon and they will be declared wanted.
This brings to mind the promise of Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) to carry the same name and shame exercise by publishing the name of 7,912 debtors owing N4.4trillion.
Perhaps, this strategy would dissipate the ills in the Nigerian society. It’s definitely a good move, but we’ll wait for the Rivers State Government and AMCON to carry out the action.
