Stakeholders are calling on government to intensify the fight against monkey-pox. What started as a lone case of suspected Monkey pox disease in Bayelsa State has, within a few weeks, spread to eleven more states with no less than 74 infections and counting.
Considering the near none availability of adequate healthcare facilities in rural areas, it is only proper and safer that the federal government should spearhead the fight against the monkey-pox insurgency. The same treatment melted against covid-19 which include wearing of mask, distancing and regularly hand washing should be reintroduced to help wrestle the spread of Monkey-pox
