Anyone one going to Nigerian Railway Corporation(NRC) should consider coming with his or her torch as it appears the Corporation is broke. A recent visit to its head office in Ebute-Metta Lagos suggests that the place is more of a mini-refugee camp with no electricity. To address the scotching heat, one either needs to be fanning oneself with an old newspaper or anything that makes itself available. The place is without life and the workers seem cold like people on a mourning spree.
When the Bears visited on an official assignment and asked why the Corporation’s generator was not powered, it was told that there was no Diesel. Murmuring around the premises also revealed that NRC may be running on a deficit. Maybe Nigerians should contribute money to fund the Corporation after all Nigeria is hard but we should not die of heat. So Amaechi left, and left Railway in darkness? Nigeria, my country!!!
