Shippers Battle Police Over Container “Settlement”

With unity, great things could be achieved and without it great misfortunes could be wrought. The activities of the Police officers at the Lagos ports connote the latter as the disunity among the commands has compounded the Apapa traffic gridlock according to Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

Despite the availability of the Commissioner of Police (CP) Ports Authority Command, Area B Command and Ijora Command, officers still say that they are not obliged to respond during crisis. This serious conflict among the police has greatly affected the ease of port operations. There has to be unity and they all have to work as a team and put national interest first.
