BEARS: Foodies @PTML Customs

A foodie is person with a particular interest in food, also known as a gourmet. MMS Plus found lots of foodies among Customs officers at the Ports and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command, last week.

The Zonal Coordinator, Zone A, ACG Modupe Aremu had led a zonal managerial team to Apapa and Tin Can Island ports before getting to PTML and she declined opportunities to dine at the former two Commands, saving the privilege for PTML.

Surprisingly, PTML officers could barely wait for their guests to be served before they started unleashing their massive food flasks to amass food for themselves. It took the intervention of the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Nkiru Nwala to stop the anomaly.

The mystery behind freebies, especially free food and drinks is one that continues to boggle the mind in Nigeria, yet it is embarrassing to see distinguished personalities cower into unprofessional conduct just for food they could conveniently afford.

It was bad enough that some PTML Customs officers were collecting food before their guests, but it was more shocking to see individuals with coolers that should serve a picnic of four or five individuals.
