BEARS: Dirty Apapa Jetty

BEARS: Dirty Apapa Jetty

This was how beautiful the Jetty as Flour Mills in Apapa looked at 12noon on Tuesday, last week. It is less than five minutes boat drive from the Lagos Area Office of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), nevertheless, it has become the norm to find this Jetty as well as others around the State very dirty.
It’s an irony Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has also done nothing to address this issue. However, when it comes to matters of dues, both agencies are always willing to fight themselves.
Can’t they fight over cleaning Lagos jetties and sensitizing boat users and operators not to litter the environs?
