The Continental President of Women in Maritime Africa (WIMAFRICA), Mrs Jean-Chiazor Anishere (SAN) was listed among the personalities honoured by the Maritime Academy Of Nigeria (MAN) Oron, in Akwa Ibom.
In an event commissioned by the Minister of State for Transportation, the Academy named some buildings and roads in the institution after President Muhammadu Buhari and other prominent Nigerians in the maritime and other sectors.
Recall that Mrs. Anishere has been a contributing factor to the Academy as she had in the past, donated copies of her great books titled : “Essays in Admiralty ‘ Vols 1, 2 and 3 to the library of MAN Oron.
She described the gesture as a joy to contribute to the knowledge of the young cadets and this has seen her honoured at the learning institution.
Others also honoured are Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Gov. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki, Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio, Amb. Demola Seriki, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho , Sen. Danjuma Goje, Sen. Zainab A. Kure, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Hon. Lynda Chuba-Ikpeazu, Hon Umar Bago, Hon. (Capt) Ajao J. Adejumo, Dr. Magdalene N Ajani, Alhaji Sabiu Zakari, Folorunsho Alakija, Chief A. B. Sarumi, Margaret Orakwusi.
The list also included; Capt Adamu Biu, Engr. Greg Ogbeifun, Ify Akerele, Nneka Obiamyor, Mfon Usoro, Alhaji Danjuma Dauda, Capt. Alao Tajudeen, Capt. A. F. Assad, Engr. Olu I. According to the Academy, more personalities who contribute to the training of cadets would be honoured as time goes by.
Speaking with MMS Plus on the development, the Continental President was full of joy and expressed gratitude to those who nominated her.
Her words: “It feels really good to be appreciated and I find this recognition so encouraging. It will surely spur me to do more for our cadets in terms of securing jobs for them and encouraging them to greater frontiers. I thank all those who nominated me for this huge recognition and I pledge to do more.”
