BEARS: Save Obiajulu
The maritime media woke up last week to hear that a gifted and trusted colleague Obiajulu Agu is lying critically ill in the hospital. He had reached out to some stakeholders and friends for assistance. We use this medium to call for assistance to save his life. In a terse text message, he said is kidney complications and more. However, this is another challenge to the maritime media. We lost Ubon Akpan, Ray Ugochukwu, Blessing Onumajuru, Ifenyinwa Obi, and a few others not on accident but illness. Yet, the media operates without any known insurance policy cover for members. A few associations where certain leadership made it possible successive leaderships dumped them to fund the fancy of the day leaving tomorrow’s need. It now appears the media need help to fix themselves right. It is a shame but stakeholders help save the media.
