WiLAT Set To Hold 5th Annual ConferenceBy Efobi Anthonia

Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT), has announced plans to organize its fifth (5th) annual conference on Thursday, September 28th, 2017 at Lagos Oriental Hotel, Lekki by 10am.

WiLAT revealed this in a letter sent to MMS Plus signed by Mrs. Khadijat Shabi, the Chairperson 2017 WiLAT Day Planning Committee.

The group has called for participation and sponsorship from notable professionals and organizations while assuring that the event would host maritime veterans on the theme, “Effective Logistics and Transport as key components of successful Organizations and Businesses”.

According to Khadijat Shabi, the previous conferences which successfully took place annually in the last four years were moments of memorable experience with opportunities for professional networking even as experienced transport lectures have remained an integral part of WiLAT days.

WiLAT is the first professional umbrella group of women to exist globally from all the transport modes (maritime, railways, road, aviation and pipeline), transport training institutions and logistics including the military.

WiLAT was established in 2010 by Hajia Aisha Ali-Ibrahim (FCILT) the Port Manager of Lagos port complex. The body is a group of women under an international professional body, the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
