Orakwusi Emerges MMS Hall of Fame BOT Chairman

Foremost maritime lawyer and Chairman of Nigerian Ship Owners Forum, Barr. Mrs. Margaret Orakwusi  has emerged the Board of Trustees Chairman of MMS Woman of Fortune(WoFHoF) Initiative, a gender- focused  Lagos based not-for- profit organization with the preoccupation of building capacities in different sectors of the economy through pairing accomplished women role models as mentors with mentees,who largely career making women, budding entrepreneurs, graduates and students.

The former President of Nigerian Trawler Owners Association(NITOA) and a Diamond of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association(WISTA-Nigeria)who was inducted into the MMS Hall of Fame in 2012 Class, is expected to bring her wealth of experience to bear in helping to shape the growth of the organization, which has been fully registered as an NGO fast spreading its focus in Africa.

Other members of the BOT are: Chief Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa, also a WISTA –Nigeria Diamond is the Chief Executive Officer, Le Look Nigeria Limited; Mr. Kingsley Anaroke, Publisher, MMS Plus Newspapers and Co-funder of MMS WoFHoF Initiative and Hon. Mrs. Promise Anaroke, also a co-founder of the initiative and the Public Relations Officer(PRO) of WISTA-Nigeria and National Co-ordinator of Young and Professional Women in Politics(YOPWIP).

MMS WoFHoF Initiative in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development since 2012 has been organizing the annual MMS Hall of Fame induction ceremony and conference centered on gender sensitivity and campaign for leadership reforms through women in Africa.

The 2017 edition has been scheduled for Thursday, 26 October, 2017 at EKo Hotels and Suites.

MMS WoFHoF Initiative has nine Governing Council members, chaired by Amb. Dr. Kema Chikwe, former Transport and Aviation Minister, at different times; Mrs. Mfon Usoro, former Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency(NIMASA); Mrs. Ihuoma Onyearugha, Director, Human Resources, Chevron; Chief Mrs. Alaba Lawson, President, National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mine and Agriculture(NACCIMA); Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa; Mrs. Hauwa Audu,Chief Executive Officer, Amyn Investment Limited; Hajia Aisha Ali-Ibrahim,global Convernor,Women In Logistics and Transport(WILAT); Dr.Mrs. Chika Ezeh, Managing Director,Aulic Nigeria Limited  Mrs Mary Isong, representative of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

Envisioned to mentor younger generations to success in maritime, aviation, logistics, finance, oil and gas as well as political leadership, the mentorship and training  platform of MMS Hall of Fame is organized under the Women In Leadership and Career Empowerment Programme( WILCEP) Africa, which provides opportunity for pairing the mentors and mentees with the ultimate aim of inculcating in the younger turks business, career and home management skills and virtues as well as integrity and perseverance required to be successful.
