The Founder of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr. Boniface Aniebonam has called on the leadership of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) to adopt the “Doctrine of Necessity” in solving the current problems of the group.

The NAGAFF Leader said the squabbles in ANLCA were unfortunate, noting that the lust for power was wrecking the foundation of the Association.

“ANLCA high command should learn from me and leave power for the younger ones. There should be collaboration between the two foremost associations in the freight forwarding business”.

Aniebonam described the crisis in ANLCA as a needless and avoidable crisis.

Speaking at the end of year get-together of MAJAN at NAGAFF Secretariat, Apapa, on Friday, Aniebonam called on journalists to practice objective and investigative reporting to put agencies of government on their toes.

He called on journalists to eschew blackmail in their effort to get exclusive stories for their organisations.

Also speaking at the occasion which attracted journalists and members of NAGAFF, President Increase Uche said there should be synergy and robust collaboration to advance the port industry. He alluded the decay in the port industry to “accumulated negligence” of the access roads by successive governments..

Similarly, President of The League of Maritime Editors, Mr. Kingsley Anaraoke, called on newsmen to be consistent, creative and to reposition themselves to become a strong voice in the maritime industry.

He said efforts were ongoing to reconcile all forces within the maritime media towards unifying them for greater influence; noting that a major fallout of this regrouping would be the holding of a “Maritime Week” in 2019.

Anaraoke described Dr. Aniebonam as a consistent philanthropist who had done more for the maritime industry than any other personality in recent times. He also commended MAJAN President for his transparent and credible leadership.

In his welcome address, MAJAN President, Mr. Ray Ugochukwu thanked NAGAFF Founder, Dr. Aniebonam for his support and fatherly advice to the Association through the years especially his consistent support of worthy causes. He prayed for God’s continued blessings on him.
