FG Declares Friday, Monday Public Holidays

The federal government has declared Friday, March 30 and Monday, April 2, 2018 public holidays in order to mark the Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively.

In a statement signed by an official in the Ministry of Interior, Mrs. Nkiru Ejiofor, the federal government enjoined Christian faithful and all well meaning Nigerians to celebrate the period and live in peaceful coexistence.

It said: “The Minister of Interior, Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (rtd), who made the declaration on behalf of the federal government, enjoined Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to employ the spiritual ethos of Easter, which include love, peace, and sacrifice, in contributing to the unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

“Dambazau also urged Nigerians to remain supportive of the government of President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts towards building a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.”
