The maritime stakeholders meeting on Friday was supposed to start at exactly 10:03am according to the order of event; and the Managing Director of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) Hadiza Bala-Usman who arrived at exactly 10:00 am, made sure the event kicked-off at 10:03 shocking the audience as she picked up the microphone to play the role of the Master of Ceremony (MC) while the moderator was still gallivanting with the impression that African time would apply.
“Ladies and gentlemen, shall we rise up for the national anthem? I respect time and this is not the moment for running about because of unnecessary protocol. We are here for serious business and if the moderator isn’t ready, I will help her with the job” The fair, beautiful but serious Hadiza said in a very soft and charismatic voice as the moderator rushed to the microphone.
