BULLS: Sealink vs Nigeria Air

Nigeria Air’s modalities for funding and acquisition of aircraft remain bleak, while the transparent model deployed by the Sealink project developers is commendable. It beggars belief that Nigeria Air which is billed to take-off by December 2018 is yet to receive technical partners or financiers while another a venture ‘Sealink’ has seen Nigerian Import-Export (NEXIM) Bank, African Development Bank (AfDB), African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) provide guarantees to enable ship-builders develop vessels while some cruise vessels and six hundred and fifty (650) customized containers have been acquired. While the sealink project boasts significant prospects for the nation’s maritime sector and the development of trade in the whole of Africa; Nigeria Air looks opaque by the day.
