At the Nigerian Youth Drone Academy Workshop, a project birthed from the joint collaboration between the US Consulate General, Lagos and the US-based Global Air Drone Academy, last week, a young participant stunned the organizers with a business plan for a drone that could deliver medical material on time,thereby reducing the death rate in the society.
With an intimidating confidence, the lad stood up after the workshop and deviated from the norm of using drones for security and luxury by as a platform to save lives.
The event organized for training teenagers and students of public and private schools in Lagos State by the Cedar STEM & Entrepreneurship Hub of Lonadek, exposed the students to the many potentials that the drone technology offers. More empowerment programmes like this should be organized so that young ones are exposed to science and technology to enable them provide solutions to societal problems.
