Retirees under the aegis of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Pensioners Welfare ASSOCIATION (NPWA) have clamored for an interface with the Nigerian Ports Authority’s Managing Director, Ms. Hadiza Bala-Usman.
The Chairman of the union, Chief G. J Makanjuola who spoke with MMS Plus said granting audience to him by the NPA boss will go long way in solving so many challenges confronting his union and NPA especially as regards the ongoing court case between NPA and the NPWA.
The elderly man who worked in virtually all the ports in the country lamented the bureaucratic failures which had frustrated all the five letters he had written to Ms. Hadiza in order to book an appointment for one on one discussion with her.
“There are lots of ongoing issues in the ports that Hadiza doesn’t know. They have refused to let my previous five letters including an open letter get to her because they know I will expose them by telling her the truth.
“I know that Ms Hadiza Bala-Usman is a very principled woman. She is a human right crusader who has led several humanitarian struggles. She is part of the BBOL Group and that has yielded results. I know she will understand our plight and that’s why I coming to tell her the truth and the lasting solutions to this problem” Mr. Makanjuola stated.
The Pensioners chairman however claimed to have written an open letter which he is not sure Ms Hadiza ever read.
